Not too much happened today out of the ordinary. Dakota and
Cole were the first visitors as they had spent the night. Melissa called around
10:30 to see if someone would pick her up because she had volunteered to
babysit for her friend and needed for the kids to be entertained. I guess she thought she would find some entertainment here. She had Austin, Grace, Kalel, Lilla, and Lilly. I
picked them up around 11:00 and returned home with a car load of kids and Melissa. Grace
and I left to make a quick trip to Wal-Mart to exchange her mask which had
broken during one of her fits of frustration yesterday. We left there, got pizza, and a
drink, then returned home and fed the hungry crew. One large cheese pizza, and
2 Italian Cheesy Breads, and not a crumb was left after everyone ate.
Arnold came over to get a haircut. Melissa cut his hair on
the back porch while the only breeze coming through the screen was created by the fan
circling overhead. It was hot. I can’t
remember a summer that has been this hot for such a long time, in many years.
The kids swam until about 4:00. Austin left with a red face.
Everyone else appeared to have received little signs of burning on their skin from the
sun. Little David came over and swam for a while, then was taken to Merv’s by Mandy.
Brandi arrived around 4:30 to pick up Kalel, Lilla, and Lilly.
All in all…10 visitors today, 361 in all
