If you have lost count of the number of children staying in our camper, I will remind you. Currently there are 5 children, David and Myself. That’s a lot of popsicles, sodas, chips, dirty clothes, dirty dishes, traffic in and out of the camper, dirty shoes, trips to the camp store, and…two doll houses containing 272 pieces each!

Anyway…we drove back to Citico Creek. The kids had a great time. They rode their bikes and swam in the lake. The weather was perfect. Cole became so confident in his bike riding skills that he began standing on the seat while riding and hanging his legs to one side of the seat while riding. After gaining confidence in his ability to “go really fast” down the hills, he soon learned the hard way that he should be a bit more cautious with his riding. He wiped out, skinning his face, knee, and wrist. He was okay, but did settle down after his incident.

While swimming in the lake; Grace, Jillian, and Isabell made several friends. Isabella, Emily, and Jada played during the day. Back and forth to each other’s camp site gave everyone an opportunity to be exposed to a different environment.

From the time Austin arrived, he spoke of nothing other than roasting marshmallows. As the night grew nearer, we walked to the camp store and purchased a bundle of wood and some marshmallows. Isabella, Emily, Jada, and their mother joined us for the evening.

Starting the fire would be difficult. Everything was wet from the previous days of rain. David asked if we had any paper. My eyes were immediately drawn to the cardboard doll houses that sat on the picnic table that had been given no attention during the day. Without giving it a second thought, I retrieved the doll houses and gave them to David. They did start a nice fire. Thanks Mom.

After consuming a bag of marshmallows, we were off to bed. We will be leaving tomorrow and the kids are kind of bummed out. David and I are ready to leave as the growing piles of dirty clothes are getting to be more than we can handle.
