During the course of the day, and
in between Grace deciding that she wanted to take up rock climbing, we had
several visitors. Grace began the day by climbing the 5 foot brick wall that
leads up to the railing on our front porch. After she had mastered that small
feat, she decided to climb the 12 foot wood fence at the back corner of our pool.
She propped a ladder against a post and tied a piece of twine around one
column. The twine would help her maintain her grasp through the rough spots.
After several failed attempts to scale the wall, she gave up and decided to
play with Harlee and Cheyenne.
Mandy picked up Melissa, Austin,
and Cole and returned around 10:00. Even if the visitors don’t have
transportation; it’s likely they will find a way to get here. Melissa left to go to the grocery store while
Grace, Austin, and I ran several errands getting ready for the nights swim
meet.
When we returned, Christy was at
the house dropping off Dakota and Maddie. Melissa had agreed to watch them
while Christy went to a class at Chatt. State.
While Mandy left to get her daily
bag of ice, and while on my watch, Isabell managed to color nearly every inch
of the front side of her body with permanent markers. The array of different
colored circles, squiggles, and “I’s” looked like she had been decorated with a
mosaic of colored tiles. Mandy was a little upset and said that I would be
responsible for washing it off, for which I replied, “It will wear off.”
8 corndogs later, along with…applesauce,
a liter of juice, a box of Cheese-Its, a box of fruit snacks, numerous cheese
sticks and yogurt tubes; Grace, Harlee, Cheyenne and I were off to the swim
meet.
A fun night and we won the swim
meet against Fort Oglethorpe!
