Sitting here in an old blood assurance shirt with Miss
Clairol on my hair trying to disguise the inevitable signs of aging, I try to
recall the visitors from yesterday. Arnold arrived around 7:30 bringing a 22
rifle that David had agreed to buy from him. The rifle was loaded and Arnold
wanted to make sure that all bullets were dislodged, so he began firing the
rifle to clear the barrel. He shot nearly 8 rounds of shells into the backyard
while standing on the back porch. Needless to say, the sound of the rifle
firing bullets from its chamber woke the second visitor of the day (Maddie, who had spent another night) and all
other sleeping members of the house.
Mandy, Isabell, Maddie, Grace, and I left the house
around noon. We dropped Isabell off at her Dad’s and were off to Village VW.
Stayed for about 4 hours, leaving there a Chevrolet Traverse and returning home
with a VW Passat. Love it!
News of the new car quickly spread. When we returned
home; Jo, Harlee, and Cheyenne were eager to take a ride in the new car. Melissa,
Jeff, Austin, Cole, and Kalel (a friend of Austin’s) arrived around 7:30 and
wanted to ride in the new car as well. More miles were put on the new car
driving it around the block than those put on the car driving it home from the
dealership. Anyway…it’s exciting.
While Jo was here, she told me that my blog was
getting boring. Thought I would tell the reason behind her not sleeping last
night as that might add more humor to the blog, but remembered the adage, “What
happens at home, stays in the home.” Although she doesn’t live here, she does
feel like family.
Today is Sunday, and the visitors have already begun
to arrive. Will discuss that tonight at the conclusion of the day.
10 visitors today, 142 in all
