Creativity…that’s one thing I can definitely say about
some of the visitors that come to my house, and about some of the members
living in my house. My daughter, Mandy, has a knack for creating hair bows from
ribbon, making needed repairs to clothes, and transforming shirts into dresses.
She did not get that talent from me, anyway…Melissa had asked Mandy to hem a
long dress for her making it a knee length summer dress. Mandy removed about 4
inches of fabric at the bottom of the dress and began hemming the dress to the
perfect length. Meanwhile, Cole found a perfect use for the brightly colored
fabric circle he found lying on the floor. He wrapped his find around both hand
rails of the back porch completely closing off the path up or down the steps. With
this part of his project complete, he quickly ran to find the additional needed
accessories. When he returned, he placed a ball in the middle of the material,
pulled back, and let the ball go. The ball shot at least 10 feet across the back
yard. A sling shot! I would never have guessed. He shot balls from his sling
shot until he got tired of chasing them.
Melissa, Austin, and Cole visited. I cooked pork chops,
potatoes, fried squash, coleslaw, and sliced tomatoes. It was delicious. With
my new found energy from a big dinner I was able to clean inside the dog fence cutting
the grass and scooping up poop. Both dogs had a bath, and I watered my flowers.
Afterwards, while sweaty and hot, I jumped into the pool with my clothes on.
The kids thought I was crazy, but were quick to join me with their clothes on
too. It was a fun evening.
Arnold came to visit too talking about how good he is
feeling. His tumor has shrunk another 2 cm. We are truly thankful for that.
Harlee visited for a while, and then Jo came over with
Angus. She stayed just long enough to light a cigarette then returned home. We
had just begun to clean the dog lot and she must have decided that we were too
busy visit.
6 visitors today and 1 dog, 164 in all and 7 dogs
