Although
typically not accustomed to using any “bad words” on a regular basis; caught completely
off guard by a plastic fishing pole pelting me in the arm while out by the
pool, reading the newspaper, and in my own little world I said, “Oh shit, who
the hell did that?” Quickly Ben (Austin’s friend) pointed to Austin as if he
was scared to death that I would kill him. Austin admitted to throwing the
fishing pole and slowly walked toward me to retrieve it. With his head held down,
I knew he hadn’t meant to hit me with the fishing pole. He said, “I’m sorry
Nanar.” I accepted his apology, went back to reading my newspaper, and gave
Melissa a wink.
Madi spent the
night with Grace, Austin and Cole as well. Melissa arrived around 11:00 with
Ben (Austin’s friend and sister) Sophie. Swimming and pizza again in the
afternoon. May buy some stock in Little Caesar’s Pizza. Madi’s mom (Suzanne)
arrived around 1:00 just as I was returning with pizza. Suzanne had her dog
with her and had just received shots at the vet. Madi was hungry so I sent her
home with a slice of pizza and a bottled water. Gave the dog a Pupperoni.
Kay visited for
a while and talked to Austin and Cole by the pool. She said that she would fix
pork chops when they came over again.
Arnold visited
with David for a while and helped him to unload tools from the back of his
truck. He had a bottled water and sat on the back porch. Arnold’s health
continues to improve and he seems to be getting stronger each day. His recovery
from cancer seems to be good.
Cleaned the
inside of my car today. Isabell had spilled a bottle of cream soda in the seat
last week and the dry sticky residue on the door was beginning to shimmer when I
opened the door. I didn’t mind seeing the visible soda stains running down the
door until I couldn’t tell the difference between the nose prints from the dog on
the window and the soda stains. It’s somewhat clean now.
Little David arrived
around 6:30 parking his truck in front of the house. He said that he thought I
might need something to blog about. He stayed for a while, then borrowed Mandy’s
car to go get his oldest daughter, Katie and her dog Scottie.
