The
week’s activities have caught up with me and I have found very little time to
write. Horse camp, swim practice, team pictures, a swim meet, trips to the
grocery store, laundry, cleaning the house, cooking, paying the bills, and the list goes
on. I returned home from Cleveland last night around 10:30; cleaned out the
trunk, piled all wet clothes together, and washed the cooler. I went straight
to bed but ended up in Grace’s bed to escape the constant scraping from her toenails
down my calves.
Cole
was the first visitor of the day as he had spent another night with Nanar. We
slept together and went to sleep the previous night after Cole asked me a round
of questions: What’s your favorite color, what’s your favorite animal, what’s
your favorite food? After we chatted for a few minutes, we were both off to
sleep.
Mandy
left shortly after we woke and picked up Austin and Ben. Melissa was putting
color on a friend’s hair and would be over soon after she finished. She arrived
around 2:00 with Kristen dropping her off.
David’s
friend (Jack) arrived around 3:00 and visited for a while talking about how
long it had been since he had visited.
When
waking this morning, David told me about the events of yesterday evening. He
let Austin, Cole, Ben, and Isabell ride the riding lawn mower, giving everyone
a turn to drive. He talked about the cool air in the backyard while they all
picked handfuls of blackberries and ate them until they were nearly ready to burst
from eating too many. I was almost jealous thinking about how relaxing his
evening must have been compared to mine. Somehow though, I think I am draw to
the confusion and quick world that encompasses by daily life. When all was said and done…
Another
6 visitors today, 170 in all.
